LIMIAR is a recognized child advocacy non-profit organization founded by Nancy Cameron in 1984.
LIMIAR's mission is two-fold:
- to coordinate the international adoption of Brazilian children who have little or no chance of being adopted into permanent Brazilian homes. read more...
- to support and operate Casa Limiar, an orphanage in Sao Paulo, Brazil for up to 25 children with physical handicaps and other special needs. read more...

Limiar is supported largely by donations from individuals and families who have participated in the adoption process and/or believe in the mission of helping Brazilian children in search of permanent homes.

THRESHOLDS Newsletter
THRESHOLDS is the LIMIAR quarterly newsletter with these purposes:
- Source of information about what is going on in the LIMIAR organization currently
- A vehicle to publish family news from our Limiar families
- A source of useful and provocative articles pertaining to adoption
- Announcement of upcoming LIMIAR events
- Reporting news of CASA LIMIAR, our orphanage for special needs children in Sao Paulo , Brazil
- General interest articles about Brazil , it's people and it's culture

In 2003 LIMIAR opened CASA LIMIAR São Paulo. CASA LIMIAR is a home for children facing physical challenges. Our goal is to maximize their education, enjoyment and participation in life, and to minimize the effects of their physical disabilities. Our home is maintained only by sponsors.
