Traditionally, every other year, LIMIAR has sponsored and organized a Back to Brazil trip, aimed at adoptive families who want to take their children back to Brasil. In 2006, we hosted two trips, one to the North focused on Recife and the Amazon region, and one to the South, focused on Sao Paulo and Curitiba . All the families who went reported a wonderful, valuable experience applauding Limiar for organizing a jam-packed eight days, which, at times, was light and joyous doing sightseeing and the like, and other times quite emotional, especially during meetings with biological family members. Some of the families used this time to help their adopted son or daughter to re-connect with their biological families, and Limiar assisted in locating family and arranging the meetings. The financial advantage of the group trip is that with a minimum of 15 people, we can get better pricing for air transport and hotels than available for individual families, and we provide land transport and full time interpretation and translation as part of the package.

As time marches on, needs change. Recently, most of the people who have contacted us about B2B trips have been young adult adoptees, who are less interested in seeing sights, but more interested in learning of their past and regaining the sense of Brazilian culture.
