4. Family requests that homestudy be sent to LIMIAR:USA and to OWA.

5. Family compiles a dossier of supporting documents.

6. Family completes I-600a form with U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service in their locale.

7. Family submits dossier and funds for translation & registration.

8. Family petitions Brazilian court for referred child.

9. Family contributes financially to LIMIAR.

10. When petition is approved by the Brazilian court, family formulates travel plans and obtains visa from Brazilian consulate in their locale for themselves.

11. Family notifies LIMIAR of arrival date and flight information.

12. LIMIAR makes hotel / apartment reservations in Brazil.

13. LIMIAR:Brazil meets airplane and accompanies family throughout the adoption process.

14. Adoptive family and child cohabit for required time and finalize adoption in Brazil.

15. Family returns to U.S. home.

16. Family sends LIMIAR 3 post-placement reports during the year after placement.

17. Family obtains for court records, proof of citizenship in their country for their child.
